Ares is a 10yr old, 16.2hh registered American Saddlebred gelding. Sire is Winsdown Black Gold and Dam is Brittany's Heir.

His only vices and the reason we are considering rehoming him is that he is an INCREDIBLY hard keeper during the summer and requires high quality feed and constant access to round bales, which we are unable to obtain easily for various reasons. His weight is pretty poor currently due to the lack of access of round bales in this area. He also requires allergy medication and fly spray as he has developed an allergy to fly bites and has knocked off lots of his hair trying to bite at them. This is his first year having this issue and it might go away. Will include benadryl for the fly bites, a couple bags of feed and can even include a 16' fairly new synthetic Wintec saddle for a bit more.

He needs TLC to get his weight back where it needs to be with this heat, but for his price (feel free to check out his bloodline alone, on top of the videos and photos I have available) and this diamond in the rough is well worth it and more. Almost all photos are from the past couple of years during the spring/fall, the heat just gets to him. I'm happy to send photos of his current weight as requested.

He is otherwise the best horse you could ask for her, he is great for kids to put around on, he has done a significant amount of dressage and jumping training in the past (about 3 years ago), he has pulled wagons and carts with previous owner (photos in google drive link), some trail riding in both groups and out on his own, he rides tacked up (english or western) or in a halter and bareback (ridden right before the heat hit and his weight went downhill), he has the potential to go so far with the right person who can maintain his weight better in the summer, has more time and has the drive to give him a job.
He is amazing under saddle, VERY nice smooth stop, listens nicely to verbal and physical cues, great with beginners of all ages and has been used extensively as a lesson horse. My almost 1 year old and 2 year old are able to walk around, under, climb all over and bug the hell out of him and he is as gentle as they come (more pictures in google drive and can take more if needed).

Located in Overton TX, let me know when you'd like to come by and meet him. Serious buyers only. Available to chat by phone at 5one2-eight2six-96five8 or send an email.
