This position is a Production Manager reporting to the Plant Manager, with the primary purpose to direct the activities of the Plant's Production Department through the Production Superintendent(s), and the Shift Supervisors. Also is responsible to provide required process engineering on a Plant level. This position participates in the overall administration of the Plant.

Examples of the components of the production activities mentioned above are:
Safety and health factors in all processes.
Maximizing yields (product to raw material ratios).
Minimizing off-specification product.
Maximizing throughput (product and cycle time).
Maximizing equipment utilization.
Overall consideration of scheduling and timing of production.
Participation in all Lean Manufacturing efforts & initiatives

Examples of overall plant administration are:
Leadership and training.
Organization of personnel.
Planning for current and future production requirements.
Implementing plans and checking on progress.
The most important duty of this position is to help accomplish the Plant's short- and long-range objectives in any area of plant operations as necessary or as requested.

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. Incumbent will follow other job-related instructions and perform other job-related duties from time to time if requested by department management

6-10 years production supervisor experience, as well as engineering experience
Preferred Requirements: B.S. in Manufacturing/Engineering or equivalent of an Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing/Engineering and work experience

Limited travel; 50% office work; 50% on-site plant work.
On-call continuously.
Frequently called back to the plant during off-duty hours.
Must exercise continuous leadership to focus plant efforts on priorities.
Must deal with constantly shifting priorities.
Must be technically proficient to "troubleshoot" manufacturing issues.
An employee in this position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention. Strict adherence to Corporate and/or Plant policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required.

To perform the duties of this job, an individual must be able to read, write understand and communicate by telephone using the English Language.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time (3-4 hours at a time). The employee is frequently required to use hands for typing, 10-key operation, telephone dialing, feeling objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to talk and hear.

Specific vision abilities required to this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to enter information into a computer.
